Araucaria Symposium
The Araucaria Symposium on Cell and Molecular Biology is an international event organized by the Graduate Programs in Cell and Molecular Biology of UFPR and in Biosciences and Biotechnology of the Carlos Chagas Institute (FioCruz-PR) with the participation of renowned researchers from Brazil and abroad .
The event aims to promote the exchange of cutting-edge information on topics of cell and molecular biology among participants, the interaction between researchers from different national and international research groups for the establishment of collaborations, and the encouragement of undergraduate students to join the graduate programs. The 5th Araucária Symposium on Cell and Molecular Biology continues the successful tradition of previous editions, bringing together the Graduate Programs in Cell and Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), in partnership with the Graduate Program in Biosciences and Biotechnology at the Carlos Chagas Institute (Fiocruz Paraná).
This year’s symposium will feature an outstanding scientific program including keynote lectures by national and international speakers, panel discussions, poster sessions, oral presentations, a Scientific Image Competition, and a Short Science Communication Video Competition.
The program is organized around three major thematic areas: Health and the Environment, Human Health and Chronic Diseases, and Human Health and Infectious Diseases. These themes will foster interdisciplinary discussions on emerging scientific challenges and highlight advances in basic, translational, and clinical research.
The symposium provides a dynamic forum for researchers, faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students, and professionals from related fields to exchange cutting-edge knowledge in cell and molecular biology and allied disciplines. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their research, increase its national and international visibility, and establish new multidisciplinary collaborations.
For the organizing graduate programs, the symposium serves as an important platform for institutional integration, promoting interactions among complementary research areas, increasing the visibility of ongoing research, and stimulating collaborative projects. The participation of the Graduate Program in Bioinformatics further strengthens the interdisciplinary character of the event by expanding the interface between biology, computer science, and data science, creating new opportunities for scientific innovation and technological development.
